Afgelopen week was Freddy Mercury van Queen 25 jaar geleden overleden. Leek toch echt alsof het gisteren was. Hij is als een legende in ieder geval onsterfelijk. Afgelopen week ook de eerste tv-uitzending van de serie over Pieter Menten gezien. In de jaren 70 was dit bijna dagelijks voorpagina nieuws. Wat een flashbacks deze week. Is gisteren ook Fidel Castro op zijn negentigste overleden. Ik dacht even terug aan die geweldige tijd in Havanna in 2014. Maar naast die flashbacks heb ik toch echt de supermaan aan de hemel gemist. Was blijkbaar ook niet echt goed te zien. Een hele geruststelling dat we de supermaan over 18 jaar in 2034 weer kunnen zien. Heb er nu al zin in…..  

De weken zijn weer voorbij gevlogen en eigenlijk is het de laatste twee weken vooral werk, werk en nog eens werk. Echte traditie in mijn vak zo eind van het jaar. Eigenlijk best lekker om druk te zijn, want dan vliegen de dagen voorbij en heb ik geen tijd om aan iets anders te denken.                                     Afgelopen weekend bij de verjaardag van de kunstenaar Anton Martineau geweest in Amsterdam. Was toch best bijzonder, zo bruisend, zoveel humor, zoveel energie. Negentig jaar oud en dan nog zo kunnen genieten. Echt heel mooi om te zien. Met een grote lach viert hij zijn feestje, alsof de tijd gewoon stil staat. Zo’n ontmoeting geeft weer veel energie. Nu het eind van het jaar nadert zet ik de laatste stap met de grafisch ontwerpers – de Ronners uit Rotterdam – om mijn persoonlijk kunstboek af te maken. Een intiem dagboek van dertig jaar kunst verzamelen. Bijna twee jaar zijn we er mee bezig geweest, maar nu eindigt de ontwerp-reis : het is zo goed als klaar. Mijn werk zit erop, de jus van de vormgevers mag er overheen. Spannend moment natuurlijk. In mijn hoofd is het volgende idee alweer geboren. Zo heerlijk om steeds weer met nieuwe dingen bezig te zijn. Produkten voor mijn vakgebied aan de ene kant en schrijven, dromen en realiseren van boeken aan de andere kant.                                                                      Afgelopen vrijdagavond gewoon weer eens een avond alleen thuis. Eindelijk die DVD-speler na maanden eens aansluiten en aan de praat krijgen. Heerlijk als het dan ook lukt. Gewoon om 21.30 uur onder de wol met een DVD-tje aan. Ik had gekozen voor ‘AMY’, een documentaire over haar leven. Best aangrijpend aan de ene kant, maar ook onbegrijpelijk aan de andere kant hoe iemand zichzelf zo te gronde kan richten. Ik projecteer het even op mezelf : als je weet dat je horizon met de dag kleiner wordt, dan vind je het vreselijk dat er mensen zijn die zichzelf kapot maken….. Ik spoel het weg met een fantastische single malt Highland wiskey…..
