Wereld Kanker Dag. Hiep Hiep Hoera!

Ik moet terug komen. Samen met Annemieke - mijn vrouw – wacht ik af wat er gaat gebeuren. Het plassen via uroflowmetrie wordt opnieuw bekeken. Maar er is geen verbetering. Er blijft teveel plas in mijn blaas. Vandaag haalt de uroloog ook stukjes weefsel weg uit mijn prostaat. Een stuk of 10 stukjes voor nader onderzoek. De prikjes om het weefsel weg te halen voelen niet fijn aan, maar alles bij elkaar valt het best mee.  Daarna wil de uroloog nog even met ons praten…..

Hij vertelt dat hij de uitslag van het bloedonderzoek heeft. Mijn PSA-waarde is 76 en dat is veel te hoog. Het hoort ongeveer 2 te zijn. Hij vertelt dat ik prostaatkanker heb. En dat de kankercellen naar buiten zijn gegroeid. Ik ben stil, heel stil. Even uit het veld geslagen…..De tranen lopen over mijn  wangen……We worden fantastisch opgevangen door het verpleegkundig team, Anja & Karin. 

De uroloog stelt voor om snel een botscan te laten maken om te zien of er uitzaaiingen zijn. Later die dag besef ik dat het Wereld Kanker Dag is, hoe bizar kan het zijn.

Voor lotgenoten: Ik krijg voor mijn plasproblemen TAMSULOSINE, HCL RET C 0,4 MG voorgeschreven.
